Virtual private cloud, explained
A virtual environment.
Planned around your workloads.
A virtual private cloud provides a logically separated environment for your organisation’s compute, storage and networking. The actual resource allocation and underlying hardware model depend on the chosen service; private does not automatically mean every physical host is exclusively yours.
Radian helps review application demand, operating systems, access and data-location requirements. We coordinate suitable services through delivery partners and agree what the platform manages, what your team owns and how important workloads will be protected.

The features that matter, with the practical details made clear.
Choose CPU, memory and storage around the application rather than a generic server size. Confirm capacity and performance requirements.
Plan subnets, addressing, access paths and connectivity between hosted workloads and business locations.
Agree network boundaries, administration and any selected firewall or protection services.
Define operating-system, application, patching and change responsibilities alongside platform management.

The picture, made clearer
A simplified service view. The components and responsibilities are agreed around your requirements.
Illustrative service view. The components, features and responsibilities depend on the agreed setup.
Make an informed choice
Confirm virtual resource allocation, storage characteristics and whether any dedicated physical infrastructure is required.
Review where workloads and backups will be hosted, how users connect and any latency or data-location requirements.
High availability supports platform operation; backup protects recovery points. Their scope, objectives and testing are separate decisions.
The practical details
The service should be understandable to the people administering it and the teams who rely on the applications.
Plan your setup ↗Include databases, identity, licences and connected services before moving or resizing a workload.
Agree access controls, roles and the process for requesting changes or assistance.
Check application access and performance as well as the agreed restore or continuity arrangements.
From enquiry to everyday use
Review workloads, dependencies and performance needs.
Agree resources, location, access and responsibilities.
Prepare the environment and test the application move.
Manage agreed services and review capacity and recovery.
A little more clarity
Have a question about your setup?
Tell us what you want to achieve.
Not always. Logical separation and dedicated physical hardware are different models. The proposal confirms what resources and isolation are supplied.
No. Security depends on design, configuration, access and operations. Compare the available models against the requirements of the workload.
Only where specified. We confirm backup frequency, retention, storage location and the restore support included in your chosen service.
Available changes depend on the platform, resource limits and commercial terms. We review growth and any application implications during planning.
The location is confirmed for the selected service. UK and international options can be discussed around users and data requirements.
The agreement defines platform, operating-system and application responsibilities. Managed infrastructure does not automatically include every application task.
UK-wide service enquiries
For applications used across UK offices, define the isolation, routing and access you require. Logical separation, physical infrastructure, management responsibilities and recovery provisions must be confirmed for the selected hosting arrangement.
Based in Charlwood, we welcome enquiries nationwide, with a particular focus on Horley, Crawley, Gatwick, Surrey, Sussex and London. Delivery, availability and any site attendance are confirmed for your chosen service.
